NEW POWER TAKE OFF

A new design power take-off assembly AA- 7251-B has recently been released. This assembly complete with all necessary parts for attaching (with exception of lever AA- 7270-B) is supplied in carton under part AA-7275 at a list price of $12.50. The price of the lever is $1.00. These prices are subject to dealers’ regular parts discount. .

This new unit supersedes the previous design AA-7251-AR and CR power take-offs formerly used with Anthony, Galion and Wood hoists and can be used with any of these hoists as well as the four-speed truck trans- mission. The complete assemblies AA-7251-AR and CR will not be supplied for service; repair parts for these units will however be available.

Easily Serviced

The new power take-off is easily serviced. To completely dismantle it proceed as follows:

Disassembling Power Take-off

Remove the four A-20709 retainer screws and A-22215 lock washers. (See Fig. 1133.) Lift off retainers AA-7264-B and AA-7265.

With a blunt pointed punch, spring the lock ring AA-7261 until it can be removed. (See Fig. 1134.)

Withdraw AA-7255-B drive shaft, bringing with it AA-7262-B felt packing. Washer AA-7257, gear AA-7254-B and washer AA- 7256 will then drop out. (See Fig. 1135.)

Take out A-23534 cotter and AA-23822-S7 lever pin, freeing AA-7267-B throw-out lever and AA-7268-B throw-out lever support.

Push AA-7266-B shifter shaft through opening in housing, forcing out housing plug AA-7260. (See Fig. 1137.) Shifter ball A-24506 will then fall out. Remove A-24451 shifter ball plug, and shifter ball spring AA- 7272 will fall out.

Remove AA-7263-B packing.

The parts are now all removed from the housing except the AA-7258-B and 7259-B bushings and AA-7260 housing plug. These parts can be pushed out with an arbor press.

Assembling Instructions

To reassemble power take-off simply reverse the disassembly procedure.

In assembling the power take-off to the transmission, the general instructions outlined on pages 488 and 489 of the September Service Bulletin can be followed. Fig 1138 shows the bolts, nuts, cotter pins, etc., used in making the installation.

Additional Lubricant Must be Added

With the installation of the power take-off, approximately a pint more gear lubricant is required in the transmission housing. Lubricant must be added until it reaches the level of the filler plug opening in the trans- mission housing.
