Optional Lamp Mounting on Dump Trucks

The standard tail lamp mounting, used on dump trucks, is to attach the tail lamp to the rear of the cab. (See Fig. 1003, September, 1930 Bulletin.) This type of mounting prevents damage to the tail lamp when backing into load, operating in gravel pits, etc.

In a few states, the law requires that the tail lamp on dump trucks be attached at the· end of the chassis. To comply with the requirements of these states, two optional mountings have been provided, one at the end of the side member and the other on the rear cross member. (See Fig. 1182.)
