USE OF MILEAGE TESTER ON CARS EQUIPPED WITH NEW COWLTANK

To install the mileage tester on cars equipped with the new design cowl tank (see page 560 May Bulletin) it is necessary to use two special fuel pipes. One of them is a short curved pipe, the other is a long straight pipe. A sleeve is soldered to one end of both of these pipes so they will fit into the rubber hose which is attached to the tester. To install special pipes, first shut off gas and remove the regular A-9240C pipe. Then insert sleeve end of curved pipe through speedometer cable hole in dash and connect opposite end of pipe to gasoline valve assembly on front of dash. In the same manner insert the sleeve end of the straight pipe through the speedometer cable hole in dash and connect the opposite end of the pipe to the carburetor. Remove the fittings from both ends of the rubber hose which extends from the mileage tester, and slip the hose over the sleeve ends of both pipes. Turn on gas. This completes the installation. (See Fig. 1188). The price for the complete set of two pipes is 25c net. Orders should be placed direct with your Branch.
