BREAKER POINT AND SPARK PLUG GAP

It is very important that spark plugs and breaker points be adjusted to the same limits used at the factory (see Fig. 1117). Please see that this practice is followed in your shop.

Spark Plugs

Remove spark plugs, thoroughly clean and adjust the points until the gap measures between .032″ and .035″. In some cases, where a motor does not idle satisfactorily, the gaps can be set slightly larger. Engineers state that best results are obtained by replacing spark plugs every 10,000 miles.
