Thank You For Your Help

John,

Just wanted to thank you for all your help today. Sometimes I drift from the main course and need you to get me back on track. Your explanations are very professional, and I can get the message from them. I also appreciate the perfect job you are doing on my Model A.

I want to thank you for providing such an informative webpage

I want to thank you for providing such an informative webpage. Just finding all the Service Bulletins in one place is great; having the bulletins searchable is fantastic! Your selection of technical information will keep me coming back time and time again. Your website is one I am going to share with all of our Model A club members (it’s easy to do, I’m the newsletter editor).

Brian, Commander US Navy (ret.)

My 1928 Model A Tudor Sudan was restored in 1996 and driven for 23 years. It is a family car, that belonged to my Grandfather, and it was badly in need of repair – the car was unsafe!

The Model A Garage completely rebuilt my chassis – clutch, transmission, rear axle, all new races, wheels, bearings, hubs, brakes, shocks, steering linkage, and steering column. There were many technical challenges with parts as this is an AR with a very early real axle and unique wheels and hubs. I would not trust anyone else but The Model A Garage to do this level of work on my car. They did a fantastic job and the car drives and handles like a new car.

They have a GREAT team – John help me make decisions regarding what is best for the car and to prioritize the work, Will provided photographs and regularly contacted me with technical explanations throughout the restoration, Becky provided clear billing information that broke down all parts and labor charges.

The model A garage helped put my car back into service so it can be passed onto my children and safely driven for many years to come.

Thanks John, Will, and Becky!

I just wanted to express my most sincere thank you to Will in your Service Department. Will is incredibly knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. It was a pleasure talking to him and I will definitely be calling the Model A Garage for any further Model A questions.

i am disappointed that the shop I hired originally didn’t catch this stuff and then lied about it. On the front — I figured the brake was locked — someone removed the shoes and never reassembled. Just glad you guys know Model A’s and catch this stuff before the car is reassembled

John I just wanted to say how happy I am with the work you did rebuilding my 1930 Model A Motor. I believe it is now better than it was originally. The workmanship would make a Swiss watchmaker very proud. It starts on the first turn of the motor, runs so smooth and has amazing power. Again thank you and your crew.

“Over the last several months we had asked John at Model A Garage to look out for a car for us. Last week we concluded the deal and could not be happier with the service of the car, advise, honestly and integrity John showed us throughout the entire experience. He and his staff are extremely knowledgeable about this era vehicle and have the skill and tools to do show quality work. Very highly recommend! Thanks!”

John Phillips and his team at Model A Garage did an outstanding job tuning up my 1930 Model A and she runs like a top!! My grandfather bought the car originally and it’s been in my family ever since then. John now has a customer for life and his team treats my car as lovingly as I do. Thanks guys!!

If there is a heaven for Model A restores, I think I found it nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the small town of Luray, Virginia. The owner, John Phillips, proudly gave me a complete tour of his restoration facility. He and his staff manage multiple projects simultaneously from simple maintenance to full frame off restoration and modifications. They do restorations for fine point judging and have won many national awards but they also do modification for folks that just what to drive their cars! One of the cars is used like a laboratory to test improvements and display all of his modifications to the fuel, electrical, instrumentation and lubrication systems. One of his cars has a 6 volt to 12 volt converter, completely out of sight, that powers a GPS very cleanly mounted by the mirror – I want one! Besides John’s technical experience, he is a tremendous source for new and use parts both restored and unrestored. You can visit his web site and enter into his data base the part you are looking for and if it comes available, he will contact you.

The Model A Garage and especially John Phillips is a great place to buy or repair and old Model A. They say what they do and do what they say. Real straight shooters. I found that I could not drive a nice Model A pickup that I had purchased elsewhere because I am too tall. The Model A Garage sold it for me with out any muss or fuss. I highly recommend them.

I recently purchased your circuit and voltage tender and am glad I called and was informed of the wiring install directions! Other than that it is now installed and is working as I was told it would! Also I’m impressed with the construction of the part in that it is made with steel and marine grade parts! Very nice piece!

My wife and I have a 1951 Ford F1 and I was looking to add LED taillights to my 6v, positive ground system. I had checked with a number of places up and down the East Coast and at some big car shows, but the Model A Garage seemed like my best bet…. and they were!!! The project turned out to be more involved than originally thought, but John stuck to the original quote and turned out a terrific product that reflects high quality and value. And now I no longer have to worry about someone telling me my brake lights are out, because these babies really light up!!! A big shout-out to Jennifer, who works for John at Model A Garage and who was very helpful throughout the entire process. I would recommend these folks in a heartbeat!!!

Dave and Jan

It’s been a month since you delivered “Mr. Ed” back to his home in Bristow, Virginia. Today I went to the storage garage to start him up and for the first time in over twenty years he fired right up and purred like a cat! As you know, we inherited “Mr. Ed”, a 1931 Model A Coupe, from Jan’s father some years back and it had sat in the garage for five years with everything from the wiring to the water pump in serious trouble. Prior to that Jan’s father had spent three times the amount we paid you and the car just never ran right. And never fired right up as it did today.

Not only was your pricing more than fair – it was your true professionalism and truly caring for what were the right items to repair, upgrade or replace to allow us to operate a safe Antique Model A with our grandchildren. We loved visiting your garage and the tour you gave us. Your place is quite impressive. The time you spent in going over the entire car with us, showing us what repairs you made and explaining why they had to be done was more than we expected of you. Thank you so much. Restoring two Triumphs myself, everything to explained and why you did what you did made prefect since. Obviously, you weren’t out to just make a buck but you truly love what you do and you are passionate about helping others with their Antique Cars.

I have bragged about you to everyone I know and will highly recommend you, your team and your work to anyone. I’ll see you soon so you can repair or replace (your call – I trust your judgment) the steering box on “Mr. Ed”.

Yours Truly:

Dave and Jan
